- Prof. Joannes El. Chliaoutakis is professor in sociology of health at the Department of Social Work, Technological Educational Institute of Crete and the head of the School of Health and Social Welfare. He has coordinated a number of research projects under national and European funding schemes and has published his work in accredited international scientific journals. - Prof. Charalambos Gnardellis is a Professor of Biostatistics at the Technological Educational Institute of Messolonghi, Greece. Professor Gnardellis holds an MSc (DEA) and a PhD (Doctorat 3eme cycle) in Statistics from the University Pierre et Marie Curie - Paris VI. In the past he has worked as research fellow in the National School of Public Health, Athens, Greece, as senior statistician in the Computer Centre of Social Services and as data analyst in the Greek Ministry of Defence. He has been involved as senior statistician in large epidemiological multicentric studies that have been funded by the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Community and other major funding bodies. Professor Gnardellis has published 6 monographs, 28 original papers in international peer-reviewed journals, 16 original papers in Greek peer reviewed journals and 36 abstracts in national and international conferences. He has also published two books, in 2003 and 2006.
- Assoc. Prof. Tom Kontogiannis Dr.. Kontogiannis holds a PhD in Cognitive Ergonomics from the University of Loughborough. He has long research and consultancy experience in various areas and especially in the risky driving behaviour area where he has published several research papers in international journals and conferences. He has been involved in the chemical industry, the nuclear industry, the aviation industry, the defence sector and the transport industry. In the past he has worked for many companies around the world, such as for Shell in the UK, TUV in Germany, Mitsubishi Atomic Power Industries in Japan, the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute in South Korea, the European Space Agency in Holland and the Docklands Light Railway in the UK. Dr. Kontogiannis published one book in 1994 and 21 original articles in peer-reviewed journals, 16 original articles in conferences and 22 consultancy reports. He is also a member of the Editorial Board for one international peer reviewed journal (Cognition, Technology and Work) and a reviewer for 5 international journals. He is member of Ergonomics Society (UK) and Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (USA).
- Dr. Georgia S. Tzamalouka holds a doctorate in social psychology. She works at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens at the Department of Health Care and Social Unit Administration. She has participated in many international conferences and given lectures in Greece and in many other countries. She has seen her articles published in the Greek press and in international journals and teaches woman studies, social exclusion, and social movements. Her main investigation field is in the area of sexual identity/ies, intersexual relationships, assertiveness at work, high-risk behavior, and methodology in social research.[bio]
- Maria Papadakaki is a lecturer at the Department of Social Work at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete. She obtained a first degree in Social Work (TEI of Crete), holds an MPH, and she is currently a PhD candidate at the Medical School, University of Crete. She has been involved in a number of scientific publications on health and safety-related issues. She has a special interest in high risk behaviours and domestic violence research from PHC perspective, which is the subject of her PhD studies. [bio]
- Dr. Stavros K. Parlalis is obtained his Masters in Policy Studies (2003) and Ph.D. in Social Work (2008) both from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He has obtained a first degree in Social Work (TEI of Crete) in 2002. In the past he has worked for five years as a social worker for Enable Scotland, in Edinburgh. He has given two talks, one in a conference on “Social Policy, Public Administration and Social Work” and one as invited speaker in a mental health hospital. He has five publications in international and Greek peer reviewed journals. He has also published one book chapter. Dr. Parlalis has been awarded two scholarships as an undergraduate and as a postgraduate and research student, from the Greek State Foundation of Scholarships (IKY). His main research interests include organisational changes, organisational development, de-institutionalisation, integration of community services, health professionals’ job satisfaction and lifestyle and risky driving. He has been member of the British Association of Social Workers and member of the IASSID. His involvement in the project aims to enhance the dissemination of the findings in policy level
- Pelagia Soultatou obtained a first degree in health visiting. She holds a Masters degree and a PhD in Health Promotion and Education at King’s College London. She has a good publication record in international literature. She is also a reviewer for Critical Public Health Journal and the Educational Policy Analysis Archives.
